There are a lot of common Commercial Plumbing Myths that tend to go around. Commercial Plumbing is more complicated, has more fixtures and floors that the plumbing must cover, when compared to a home system.

These 5 Common Commercial Pluming Myths can lead to expensive repairs. Having regular Preventative Maintenance done on your systems can prevent small issues, before they become full disasters.

Myth #1: All plumbers are created equal

While it’s it true that all plumbers are trained in basic skills, commercial plumbers require specific knowledge to handle systems. Commercial Plumbing Systems are different due to the sheer size of the equipment to the number of people it is designed to accommodate.

The best way to deal with commercial plumbing issues is to have a professional look, rather than trying to fix it yourself.

Myth #2: Slow Leaks Aren’t a Big Deal

It is a clever idea to post a sign in restrooms to remind employees and visitors what can and cannot be flushed.

Myth 4: You can flush wipes

Yes, we know the packaging says they are flushable, however that does not make it safe for your plumbing.

Flushable wipes are made of tougher material that do not break down like toilet paper.

Only flush human waste and toilet paper should go down the toilet. Hygiene products, paper towels, cotton balls, and diapers should go in the trash, not the toilet.

Myth #5: Commercial drain cleaners are safe to use

Many types of drain cleaners can cause more harm than good. The cleaners contain chemicals that can erode pipes and cause damage.
