Canmore Fire Station

The current Canmore Fire Station was built in 1986 and was more than big enough for the small population of 4,000 that lived in the town. With the increasing town size, now over 17,000, and increased tourism, it was determined that an updated hall was needed. In 2109 council approved a new 8-bay station near the Pallier area.

The Caon team is pleased to say that the final piece of equipment has been installed at the Canmore Fire Station. This ERV, or Energy Recovery Ventilation unit features a Superblock that is 95% thermally efficient. This unit meets the net zero requirements to move Canada in a greener direction.

On Thursday, June 22, 2023 Caon coordinated with Westcor for a second time and helped out at the Calgary Drop-In Centre – Free Goods Program. It was shocking to see how the program and needs of Calgarians have grown since we were here last.

The Free Goods Program is an extension of the Calgary Drop-in Center. They work with low and no-income Calgarians to provide Furnishings, Clothing, Computers, and more to families & individuals in need.

In 2021 they provided needed support to 8,918 Individuals and 1,564 families. If you are able to help out by volunteering with them or providing some gently used items head to this page and see how you can help.

Our team found out what a well-run facility this is and how friendly and helpful the staff there were when we had questions or would finish up our tasks and needed more things to do. You can also see the passion and emotion the staff has for this program and what they do.

The team was very grateful to experience this program again and will be back to volunteer again in the future.

Wages: Based on experience

Roles and Responsibilities

Answering Phones
Filtering/monitoring emails and mail
Offering Administrative support to the Office Team
Data Entry
Office organization
Filing
Basic communication with customers
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Experience in the pluming industry an asset
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Words, Outlook and Adobe
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Attention to details
Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Required Experience

2 years of administrative experience

World Plumbing Day

Today, March 11, is World Plumbing Day, this is an international event to recognize the important role plumbing plays in society.

Every time you grab a glass of water, have a shower or flush a toilet, it is possible thanks to innovations in plumbing.

We send out a very special thank you to all the Plumbers at Caon Services who work hard each and every day making sure your plumbing needs are met. Thank you Caon Plumbers!

Many people in developed countries throughout the world take plumbing for granted. We simply turn on a tap and get clean water. Flushing toilets are standard in many countries.

Little thought is given to the engineering expertise provided by plumbers ensuring these systems operate as intended. Just as equally, few people appreciate the consequences of bad plumbing.

In developing countries, on the other hand, plumbing is either nonexistent or at best very basic. People suffer serious health consequences, and millions of people die because of lack of access to clean water and ineffective sanitation.

263 Million people spend over 30 minutes to get safe drinking water
1 Billion, or 3 in 10, lack access to safe, readily available water in their home
900 Million School Children have no wand washing facilities to prevent the spread of disease
1 in 5 Schools do not have any toilet facilities

Today we recognize the people who have made our standard of living possible. Remember that without a qualified plumber your ability to run a tap or flush a toilet in your home or office wouldn’t be possible.

There are a few quick things you can do on March 11 and every day:

Keep your shower to 4 minutes
Fill up the dishwasher fully before running
Don’t let the water run while you brush your teeth
Use a broom instead of a hose to tidy outside
